Explain Parson's functionalist model of the family.
He said that there is a clear division of labour between spouses. The husband has an instrumental role and is the main breadwinner. The wife has an expressive role to meet the emotional needs of the family and is the homemaker.

Young and Willmott argue that men take a greater share of domestic tasks. More women are wage earners and Feminists say this ideology only benefits men.

What's the difference between segregated conjugal roles and joint conjugal roles?
segregated is when the couples have seperate roles (e.g. male breadwinner and female homemaker). Joint is when the couples share domestic tasks and spend leisure time together.
