Where life energy remains attacted to an early stage of development, life energy can be fixated on objects and people in a person's life. (Not being able to grow out of psychodynamic stage).

What is Regression?
Regression is a return to behaviours associated with the first three stages (oral,anal,phallic). if a person experiences trauma they may go back to sucking their thumb (oral stage).

People distort their understanding and their memory in order to protect their ego.
