When Rodolpho arrives in the household, Eddie struggles to defend the family’s reputation, “I’m ashamed. Paper Doll they call him. Blondie now.” The reputation of a family was imperative to the man’s idea of honour.

when he loses the respect of his community and family when they find out about him calling immigration. He is so overly defensive and concerned about his own honour that he will stop at nothing to restore his position in society.
