Electricity

?
In terms of electrons, explain why a polythene rod becomes negatively charged when rubbed with a dry cloth
Both the cloth and the rod have electrons (negatively charged) when the rod is rubbed on the cloth the electrons are transferred from the cloth to the surface of the rod, therefore the atoms of the rod become negatively charged (gained electrons)

In terms of electrons explain why a perpex rod becomes positively charged when rubbed with a dry cloth
Rubbing a perpex rod with a cloth transfers electrons from the surface of the rod on to the cloth therefore the rod becomes positively charged as it has lost electrons
