Check engine coolant level is correct?
Find coolant tank and amount should be between min and max line.

Check hydraulic brake fluid level?
Find break fluid reservoir and check it should be between min and max line.

Check engine oil level?
Find dipstick and pull it out cleaning it off with a clean cloth. Put it back in and when you pull it back out, it should be between the min and max line.

Wash rear windscreen?
Twist right indicator toward you.

Wash front windscreen?
Pull right indicator toward you.

Dipped headlights?
Twist left indicator twice away from you.

Set rear demister?
Press right circular button and twist to the left.

Set front demister?
Press right circular button.

Horn?
Centre of steering wheel.

Windows?
Push and pull buttons on driver door.

Check breaks before a journey?
Breaks should not feel spongy or slack and when you move off the vehicle shouldn't pull to one side.

Find recommended tyre pressure and how it should be checked?
Find it in the manual, use a reliable tyre pressure gauge, check and adjust before the journey when tyres are cold and check the spare if the car has one. Then refit all the valve caps.

Check head restraint?
Middle of the head restraint should be in line with tops of ears / eye level and as close to the head as possible. Some head restraints do not adjust.

Check for sufficient tread depth on tyres and safety of their condition?
The tyre should have 1.6mm across centre 3/4 of the breadth of the tyre and the whole circumference of the tyre.There should be no bulges or cuts on the walls of the tyre.

Check headlights and tail lights?
Operate the switch and walk around the car to check all the lights are on.

Problem with anti-lock braking system?
Warning light will appear.

Check directional indicators?
Turn on hazard lights and walk around the car.

Check brake lights?
Operate brake pedals and make use of reflections in shop windows, garage door or walls. Can also ask someone else for help.

Check power assisted steering before a journey?
If the steering becomes heavy then either put gentle pressure on steering while turning on the ignition where there should be a slight but noticeable movement of the wheels. Or turning the steering after moving off should feel light.

Switch on rear fog lights and when to use them?
Switch ignition on, turn on dipped headlights then operate fog lights when visibility is below 100m. You will know they are on because of a light on the dashboard.

Switch dipped lights to full beam and how you know they are on?
Pull left indicator toward you with ignition on and there will be a blue light on the dash.
