Conduction 1.4

?
Why are materials that trap air good insulator?
Air is a poor conductor so materials that trap air are good insulators.

P C T W W
P = Part. C = Conductor. T = Transfer. W = What to What. W = Why
2 of 5
What is conduction?
Conduction is how heat energy is transferred through sold objects.
3 of 5
Why are saucepans often made of a metal base with wooden handles?
The metal base is a good conductor, so the heat conducts quicker to the food in the pan. The wooden handle is a bad conductor of heat so it prevents the anyone from getting burnt.(wood is good insulator).
