A computer is based on two states solely so it can only read 1s and 0s.

Shift to the left once means times it by 2. A right shift once means divide by 2

Split the 8 digits in half. 2. Each half is 1 digit. 3. If either digit’s value is greater than 9, assign it the appropriate letter.

Character - Binary codes and character on a keyborard
The system uses codes to represent each character, number and symbol in the chosen language. The most commonly used system is called the 7 bit standard ASCII code.

Sound is captured via a microphone and then is passed through a sound card converting it into binary format.

Images - Colour Depth and resolution effect
Better resolution and image depth means more storage is taken up. The worse the quality the less storage taken.
