How does blood move around your body?
From areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure, as the blood moves through the circulatory system, pressure in the vessels is dropping.

What are the arteries' job?
They can withstand the high pressure generated by the heart pumping blood into them.

What are the veins' job?
They prevent blood flowing backwards, they have valves.

What are the capillaries' job?
They form a network, so no cell is far from a capillary. The blood flows through capillaries and exchanges materials with the tissues. Some of the blood plasma is forced out through the holes of the capillary walls and it bathes in the cells.

What are the four main blood vessels associated with the heart?
Aorta, pulmonary artery, vena cava and pulmonary veins.
