Describe arteries
Carry blood from the heart to the rest of the body. Thick, muscular walls that have elastic tissue to stretch and recoil as the heart beats

Describe arterioles
Smmoth layer of muscle which allows them to expand and contract like artieries.

Describe capillaries
Adapted for efficient diffusion.

Describe veins
Take blood back to the heart under low pressure. Valves to stop blood flowing backwards.

Describe venules
Join together to form veins, very thin walls

What is tissue fluid?
Fluid that surrounds cells in tissues. It is formed from blood.

What are lymph cells
Its where excess tissue fluid drains to.
