      • The blood is always confined to the blood vessels.
  • The blood is pumped out of the heart and flows round the body. In one circuit, it is only pumped through the heart once.
  • The blood is pumped through the heart twice in one circuit.
    • It is pumped from the heart to the lungs (pulmonary circulation)
    • It is also pumped then from the heart and around the body (systemic circulation)
