A line across a habitat or part of a habitat, can be simple as a piece of string or rope placed in a line on the ground.

Usually a square made of metal and may contain further wires to mark smaller areas inside.

The number of tehm in the quadrat or small section of a quadrat are counted.

How is a representive sample taken using a quadrat?
It should be placed randomly.

The more quadrats that are anylysed, the better the what?
The vadility and reproductivabilty of the results.

For slow moving animals.
