What is classical conditioning?
Form of learning where involuntary behaviours are conditioned through the repeated paired presentation of 2 stimuli

What is operant conditioning?
A form of learning where voluntary behaviour is shaped and maintained by it's consequences (reinforcement and punishment)

What is reinforcement?
Consequences of behaviour that increases the likelihood of a behaviour being repeated

What is positive reinforcement?
Stimulus that increases the likelihood of a behaviour being repeated because it's pleasurable and rewarding
8 of 10
What is negative reinforcement?
A stimulus that increases the likelihood of a behaviour being repeated because it leads to avoidance from an unpleasant situation

What is punishment?
A consequence of behaviour that decreases the likelihood of a behaviour because it's unpleasant
