The number of protons in an atom is known as the atomic number?
True
1 of 32
To work out the number of neutrons, you...
Relative Atomic Mass - Atomic Number
2 of 32
Electrons are arranged in energy shells / levels?
True
3 of 32
How can the electronic structure be shown?
Numbers
4 of 32
What is the electronic structure of an atom?
A description of how the electrons are arranged.
5 of 32
A period in the periodic table shows...
how many shells that atom has
6 of 32
A group in the periodic table shows..
how many electrons there are in the outer shell
7 of 32
Where does the mass of an atom come from?
Protons / Neutrons
8 of 32
What are the charges of the particles?
Protons = +1 // Neutrons = 0 // Electrons = -1
9 of 32
Why?
The mass of electrons are too small
10 of 32
What are group 3 elements?
They
11 of 32
Isotopes of an element have...
Same Amount of Protons / Different Amount of Neutrons
12 of 32
What are group 1 elements?
Alkali Metals
13 of 32
What are group 7 elements?
Halogens
14 of 32
What is in the nucleus of an atom?

[The most important question:] Ionic Bonds happen between...
Metals and Non-Metals
17 of 32
Covalent Bonds are formed by...
Sharing Electrons
18 of 32
Thats The End Of Atoms For Chem Unit 2... This Question Is Just For Fun =] Pick The Correct Answer...
They
19 of 32
Metal Atoms (in ionic bonding)...
Lose an electron and become positively charged ions
20 of 32
How does an ion form?
When atoms lose/gain electrons
21 of 32
So how do ionic bonds form then?
Atoms transfer electrons
22 of 32
Metal Atoms (in ionic bonding)...
Gain an electron and become negatively charged ions
23 of 32
What are ions?
[Just] Electrically charged particles
24 of 32
Metal Atoms Have...
Positive ions
25 of 32
So a Covalent Bond is between...
Non-Metals and Non-Metals
26 of 32
The gain/loss of electrons in an atom do what?
It leaves a complete highest energy level
27 of 32
Non-Metal Atoms Have...
Negative ions
28 of 32
The gain/loss of electrons in an atom do what? [Part 2]
Gain = negative charge // Loss = positive charge
29 of 32
Ionic Compounds have...
High melting / High boiling points
30 of 32
Ionic Bonds can be described as...
The electrostatic forces of attraction between oppositely charged ions
31 of 32

not brilliant :/ some of the questions are badly worded, and it only covers about half the unit

Pretty sure 39 and 40 are the same question, yet they have different answers?
Some of the questions are worded badly too.
Only half the unit was covered, not the best quiz in the universe.

yer im pretty sure that if 39 is right then 40 must be right too :l  not the greatest quiz ive ever taken and some of the question were too confusing to even understand what you where asking for
