X-rays

X-rays are used for: 

• imaging bones
• medical treatments
• killing cancer cells
• radiotherapy

Advatages:

• cheap and easy
• quick
• good bone resolution
• easily interpreted

Disadvantages:

• cause cancer
• ionising (leads to chemical change in cells)
• poor soft tissue resolution
• contrast media can be unpleasant and hazardous (contrast medium includes barium meals and injection of iodine)
