Industrialisation
- The industrial revolution saw the movement of people from the countryside to towns and cities to find work in factories and coalmines
- The huge increase of the workforce produced outputs on record levels which massively boosted the economy of Britain
- Influences of old landed aristocracy declined as land was becoming secondary in importance to urban businesses
- A new middle class was created who owned factories, railways and coalmines.
Positive Analysis
- Tax is more relevant; couldn't deny people the vote
- New growing class of people making the country's money; new middle class argued they should have the vote
- Growing economic power of new middle lass led to pressure on the Government- without them industry and economy would collapse
