The carbon budget and the effects of its changes:
Carbon budget - net change between inputs from a carbon source and outputs to a carbon sink.
It is the interaction between the atmospheric, oceanic and terrestrial carbon cycle that regulate our global temperature, climate, biomes and ocean conditions. Therefore, changes in this balance has knock-on effects.
Natural carbon sources are found on both land and sea and include organic and non-organic processes that release carbon dioxide and provide an input into the atmospheric carbon cycle.
