In computer mediated communication there is a difference in the use of self-disclosures. Sproull and Kiesler argue that self-disclosures are reduced in their reduced cues theory. They state that due to the absense of emotional and non-verbal cues, such as facial expressions, tone of voice and body language, people are less willing to dislosure their personal information.
