Pathogens - microorganisms that neter the body and cause disease
Bacteria - very small living cells that make you fell ill by producing toxins that damage your cells and tissues
Viruses - viruses are not cells but like bacteria they reproduce rapidl in the body , they replicate themselves in your cells . Then the cell will usually burst relasing all the new viruses. This cell damage makes you feel ill.
Protists - Single celled eukaryotes , some protists are parasites.
Fungi - Fungi can grow an dpenetrate human skin and cause disease.
There are three main ways pathogens are spread :
1) Water
2) Air
3) Direct contact
Measles
Measles is a viral disease , it is spread through droplets from an infected persons sneeze or cough. Infected people will develop a red skin rash and they will show signs of a fever. Measles can be very serious or sometimes fatal.
