Theory of planned behaviour

is a cognitive theory designed by azjen based on theory of reasoned action and it focuses on the intentions which causes someone to engage in a particular behaviour. Intention is a fuction of three factors

behavioural attitudes- own beliefs/attitudes about the behaviour and the consquences

subjective norms-societys views on the behaviour so how you believe others see you

perceived behavioural control- level of control individuals believes they have over the ability to perform the behaviour. high levels prevent relapse and this is a huge factor as to whether you actually change the behaviour
