Once a computer system is in place, it seems that almost immediately, changes are required!
For simple systems, an user may be able to send a formal 'change request' directly to the programmer responsible for the system.
They then code up the change and test it in a development environment.
If all goes well, the new code is issued as an update to the 'production system'.
