• Main criticism of the state relates to patriarchy 
• Believe that current state is dominated by men and opresses women, called the patriarchy 
• Believe that the state should be democratically reformed in order to help women achieve liberation through the vote, women in parliament, laws on equal pay and domestic violence, female quotas, education and abortion laws
