Richard Atkinson and Richard Shiffrin created the multi-store model (MSM).

As shown and explained on page 49 in pschology revision guide.

In everyday life we form memories related to usefull things, such as, peoples faces, their names, facts, places etc. But many studies that support the MSM use none of these materials. Instead they used digits, letters and sometimes words. This means that the MSM may not be a valid model of how memory works in our everyday life where we have to remember more meaningfull information.
