Natural Hazards
Natural Hazard - Is a natural process whcih could cause death, injury or disruption to humans or destroy property and possesions.
Natural Disaster - A natural hazard that has happened.
Two Main Types of Natural Hazards -
1. Geological Hazards - Caused by land and tectonic processes. They include volcanoes and earthquakes, landslides and avalanches.
2. Meterological Hazards - Causes by weather and climate. They icnlude tropical storms, and other extreme weather, e.g, heatwaves and cold spells.
Hazard Risk - The probability of people being affected by a hazard in a particular area. There are several factors that can affect hazard risk:
