The Amazon rainforest in Brazil, South America is under threat by a variety of human activities. Vast areas of forest have been cleared to make way for things such as, farming, mining, transport, resources and settlement. This clearance causes the death and extinction of thousands of plant and animal species, many of which provide us with half our medicines.
