Prescriptivist:

• Tried to stop lexical development
• Wanted an 'Academy', like the French had, to regulate word coinage (stop inkhorns, etc.)

• Vagueness

• Unecessary contractions (e.g. disturb'd)
• Unecessary polysyllabic words (very long words- causes confusion)
