Age-related change within friendships
Psychologists have found that the number of friendships increases up until adolescence.
During adolescence the depth of relationships becomes more important than the number of friends. This statement is said by Hartup & Stevens, 1999
Buhrmester in 1996 said that the difference in self-disclosure (who you go to for release when something is wrong) in 7 to 10 years olds and 15 year olds were dissimilar.
