White blood cells attack microbes in 3 ways:

1. They eat (engulf) microbes

2. They produce antibodies - antibodies neutralise microbes - antibodies cause microbes to clump together

3. They neutralise poisons or toxins - microbes often make poisons inside body - white blood cells neutralise poisons
