Populations and samples

It is important to know the definition of all these term because often there are a few marks on these in the exam.

Population-  collection of individual people or items. e.g manufactured items, plants,members of a club.

-Finite size when you can count the population accurately

-Infinate size id it's immpossible to know exactly how many members of the population there are. e.g sand grains on a beach

Census- investigation that obtains information from a population.

Advantages

• every single member of the population is used
• it is unbias
• it gives an accurate answer
