P- Relationship is strained.

E- "How?", "Proud", "thank you".

E- The repetition and plosives highlights his explosive anger and makes him seem adament and unreasonable. He is so angry he can't form proper sentences. Links to point because Juliet was only Capulet's only hope when she was obedient.

Context: Shakespeare gave Juliet a voice, which wasn't expected. A modern audience would agree that Capulet is being unreasonable, but an Elizabethan audience would sympathise with Capulet.

P2: Lady Capulet and Capulet (extract)

P- Language isn't respectful and loving.

E- "Or I will drag thee on a hurde thither"

E- That is used to drag a prisoner who is being hanged. A loving mother and father would

Z- "drag"- connotations of hurting someone against their will. You don't drag someone you love, you drag a bad person. Could imply that Juliet is a prisoner under Capulet's command.
