In 1928 the Nazis were a small party, but in 1932 - 37% of vote. Economic crisis made the Nazis more appealing 

Economic Impact of the WSC (1929) 

US economy experienced depression - german economy heavily dependent on US loans, therefore in Germany:

- National income shrunk by 39% 1929-1932 

- Industrial production declined by more than 40% 

- Unemployment rose to 6 million by 1932  

- 50,000 businesses bankrupt 

- 1931, banking crisis - 5 major banks went bankrupt 

- Living standard vastly decreased - desperation
