Photysynthesis
Light-dependent stage:
- Light excites elctrons in the thylokoid membanes.
- Elctrons move down the elctron transport chain from photosystem II to photsystem I.
- During the elctron transport chain inbetween PSII and PSI chemiosmosis occurs.
- Electrons that leave PSII are replaced from water moleclues.
- Electrons that leave PSI are accepted with Hydrogen ion by NADPto form reduced NADP.
- NADP then travles to the Light-Independent stage.
Light-independent stage:
- Known as the Calvin Cycle
- CO2 combines with RuBP forming an unstable 6 Carbon compound
- This splits into 2x 3 Carbon molecules (Glycerate-3-Phosphate)
- NADP and ATP form these into Triose phosphate
- For glucose to form this must turn 6 times
- This creates…
