Aerobic Repiration
When there is oxygen, the glucose molcules and the oxygen combine inside of cells to produce energy. This reaction is catalysed by enzymes.
Glucose + Oxygen → Carbon Dioxide + Water (+ Energy)
It mainly occurs inside of the mitochondria and it is continuous because we require energy for:
- Build large moleucles from small one
- Contracting muscles
- Maintaining the body temperature when it is too cold
- Turning amino acids into protein
