Historical Events That Happened During the Month of Ramadan:

1. Death of Prophet Musa (AS):

The prophet Musa (AS) passed away during the month of Ramadan. The prophet Musa (AS) was a prophet, messenger and leader in Islam. He is very important in Islam because he had been given the revelation of the Torah. He was sent to spread the message of Islam.

2. Prophet Isa (AS) Rising to Heavens:

During this month the prophet Isa (AS) was raised to the heavens. The prophet Isa (AS) was a prophet, messenger and leader in Islam. His birth was a miracle and he was sent to spread the message of Islam.

3. Battle of Guadalette:

In Ramadan the 92^nd year of Hijrah (711 C.E.) a salve of the Umayyad governor of Africa and his troops faced against King of Spain. Tariq Bin Ziyad was born a slave but this didn’t stop him from being one of the greatest generals the world has ever seen.

 He landed on a large rock at the bottom of Spain –this place is named after him. Tariq burned boats that brought him and burned his comrades from Maghreb (region in Africa). This extreme motivational tool worked and despite being outnumbered by the enemy the Muslims managed to defeat the King of Spain at the battle of Guadalette.
