The belief that human life isn't valuable in itself - it depends on the type of life. E.g. the immanence of death, constancy of pain, ability to think, enjoy life, rational decisions.

It can be seen as paternalisitic as it allows others to make decisions "playing God"

Peter Singer: therefore is confusion with santity of life - quality of life would be better to focus on. This ecplores what it means to be a person. Is a foetus a person?

Personhood

The definition of a human being as person - having consciousness, self - awareness and the ability to reason and self-sufficiency.

The foetuus is an innocent person, it is wrong to end the life of an innocent person. It is wrong to end the life of an innocent person. It is wrong to end the life of a foetus.
