PROTIENS

protiens are polymers made up of monomers called amino acids.

The amino acids are joined together by a condensation reaction and broken apart by a hydrolysis reaction.

The bond that joins them is called a peptide bond, when two amino acids join a dipeptide molecule and a molecule of water is produced.

Amino acid structure:

 The R group determinds the amino acid produced.
