photosynthesis is the process where light energy from the sun is transformed into chemical energy and used to synthesise large organic molecules from inorganic substances.

Autotrophs are organisms that use light or chemical energy, and inorganic molecules such as carbon dioxide and water to synthesis complex organic molecules.

The first life forms on earth were chemoautotrophs, these are prokaryotes…
