Ontology - Exploration of what it means for something to exist
1st version of the Argument: Anselm follows the argument.
- God is that which nothing greater can be thought
- A real existent being would be greater than an Illusionary Being
- Therefore the concept of God is suprassed by an actual existing God
2nd version of the Argument: Anselm argued in his second form that it was impossible for God not to exist after Guanilos critcism (Seen later)
- God is that which nothing greater can be thought
- Contingent beings are inferior to those with Necessary existence
- Because God is supassable in every way, God must have a necessary existence
- Therefore God exists, Necessarily
Guanilos critcism - - He found Anselms reasoning could be applied to literally anything after his first version of the Argument.
