Reichstag Fire 27th Feb 1933

Dutch Communist Marinus van der Lubbe believed to have set fire to Reichstag building 

Nazis claimed fire was part of communist conspiracy 

Some argue that Nazis staged fire in order to raise awareness of fear of communism 

Hindenburg declared national emrgency in response to both fire and supposed Communist plot.
