Nanoparticles-

• Very small particles 
• Can be measured at around 1-100nm
• Have a huge surface area to volume ratio
• Each nanoparticle contains a few hundred atoms

Uses:

• Chemical industry: used as catalysts due to the huge surface area to volume ratio
• Cosmetics: deodrants/ sun tan cream- does not leave behind white marks
• Medical: Drug delivary, anti-viral or anti-fungal treatment
