Momentum and Collisions

Momentum has size and direction, the formula is:

momentum (kgm/s) = mass (kg) X velocity (m/s)

Momentum is conserved when no external forces act, the total momentum before is the same as the total momentum after

Force causes changes in momentum, the formula for this is:

Force acting (N) = change in momentum (kgm/s)/ time taken for change to happen (s)
