What is Mindfulness and Why Does it Matter?

Being fully present and fully engaged in every moment of our lives.

Half the time we’re awake, we’re not paying attention to what we’re doing.

If your mind wanders off, bring it back - this is mindfulness.

When we practice mindfulness, our brain starts to change.

  • New connections
  • Brain growth in areas of executive function
  • More self-aware
  • Less reactive
  • Greater focus

Meditation is like training the brain - it rewires it to build a mind muscle. You become:

  • More engaged
  • More present
  • More attention and focus
