Timetables

Dividing Decimals:

Convert Decimals into Whole Numbers by x10, x100, x1000

Do Normal Division

Subtracting Decimals:

Line Up Decimals

Do Normal Subtraction

Multiplying Decimals:

Convert Decimals into Whole Numbers by x10, x100, x1000

Do Normal Multiplication

Look at Total Digits After d.p. in Q) then do Same with Answer.

0.3 x 0.5= 0.15

Adding Decimals

Line Up Decimal Point

Add Zeros

Add as Normal

1/4+0.5= 0.75

1/4= 0.25 + 0.5= 0/75

Ordering Decimals:

See Total Number of Digits After d.p. and sww which is Common then Add Zeros to those which DON'T have it to make ALL the Same.

Smallest= Smallest Number After d.p.

Largest= Largest Number After d.p.

Adding Fractions:

MUST have Same Denominator!!!!

1)Multiply them Both Denominators= New Denominators

2) Cross Multiply= New Numerators

3) Then Add BUT Denominator stays Same

Subtracting Fractions:

Must have Same Denominator!!!

1) Multiply Both Denominators= New Denominators

2) Cross Multiply= New Numerators

3) Subtract BUT Denominators stay Same

Multiply Fractions:

1) Numerator x Numerator= New Numerator

2) Denominator x Denominator= New Denominator

* If Whole Number in question- Itself Over 1 E.g. 5= 5/1

3) If Top Heavy- See how many Times Numerator Goes into Denominator= Mixed Number- If remainder= Whole number with Remainder as Numerator
