Mass Transport in Animals
Overview:
- Mass transport is defined as the movements of many dissolved molecules and ions in bulk, over a large distance (the body) all travelling at the same rate in a transport medium (blood plasma)
- Mass transport requires -
- a network of closed vessels
- pressure differences
- one way flow
- a way to alter flow to different regions when needed
