Main areas of conflict between the three main parties

-> There remains deep disagreement over Britains relationship with the EU and the single European currency. The Lib Dems encourage closer political and economic integration and wish to move quickly towards the adoption of the Euro. The Conservatives resist closer integration and see no prospect of adopting the Euro. Labour lies somewhere between the two seeing memebership as beneficial to Britains interests, but draws strict lies to prevent loss to sovereignty. 

-> Law and order policy creates conflict. The Lib Dems especially wish to see a different approach, concentrating mainly on the causes of crime. Labour and Conservatives support an authoritarian approach to crime, largely supporting prison as a detterent, though the Conservatives see personal responsibility…
