BACKGROUND
- Duke of York
- usurped throne from Henry VI @ Battle of townton 1461
- His cousin Earl of Warwick (Richard Neville) helped him
- However, The Earl soon got jealous of the patronage and influence his cousin's wife, Elizabeth Woodville, was recieving and felt he was being ignored and deserved greater things
- The earl swapped allegiance to Lancastrian
- 1470 Edward is forced into exile by his cousin Warwick & the lancastrians
- Edward IV returned however to reclaim the throne in 1471 at the battle…
