Factors effecting rate of reaction

Temperature

  • As temperature increases particles have more kinetic energy and collide more frequently increasing rate of reaction due to more sucessful collisions per unit time.
  • At higher temperatures there are also more particles with sufficient energy in order to react (activation energy)

Concentration/Pressure

  • Increased concentration/ pressure means there are more particles in a given space. This means particles will collide more frequently, Increasing rate of reaction  due to more sucessful collisions per unit time.

Surface area

  • Increased
