Inside A Computer

What is a computer?

A computer is something that takes an input, processes the input and gives the user an output

CPU

  • The CPU stands for central processing unit. It is the brain of the computer. The CPU handles the processing through the FDE cycle.

THE FDE CYCLE

  • Firstly it will collect information and instructions from the RAM or memory through fetch.
  • Once the CPU gets this information it needs to be decoded as everything in the computer is stored as binary
  • Now the computer must act on these instructions by preforming the execute part in the cycle.

RAM

  • This is volatile and is used in the main memory of the computer. It stands for random access memory and temporarily stores things until they are no longer needed or the device…
