Inbau - Interrogation Techniques.

-> Interrogation: a technique used by police after an interview.

-> Different from an interview, as rather than questioning the suspect, they will prompt them into 'admitting their crime', giving them no choice but to confess.

-> It is designed to increase arousal and anxiety

-> Done through a series of psychological tactics and techniques, which could be classified as "unethical"; could even lead to the extent of deceiving the suspect.

Inbau developed the Reid "nine steps" of maniuplative interrogation techniques:

Direct Confrontation.; Tell suspect directly they've commited offence
