- Military failures; there were huge defeats to the Russians and the high death tolls angered the Russsian people. this was further made worse by the tsar's decision to take personal control of the army. this meant that any further failures made by the Russian army, and any further human loss of life was put directly on the tsar, further weakening tsarist support back home.

- Tsarina and Rasputin- as the tsar was off being the general commander of the Russian army, the Tsarina and Rasputin were left in charge. there was already huge mistrust upon them due to the hatred towards 'dirty' Rasputin by the Russian people, further made worse by rumours of an affair occurring between the Tsarina…
