Alkali Metals

• are silverly solids 
• have to be stored in Oil
• have to behandled with forceps (they burn the skin)

• have LOW DENSITY (first 3 are less dense than water)
• have ONE Outer Electron (makes them V.reactive and gives them all similar properties)

A you go DOWN Group 1, the alkali metals 

1) become MORE REACTIVE..........because the outer E is more easily lost (it's further from the nucleus)
